Anyone get any of the fake feg HP clones?? I see them on gunbroker for around $200. Been thinking of getting a plinker that could be a truck gun.

Two friends have them and are very complimentary about them.
I have handled them, but not shot them. Seem like a normal HP, which
I do have.

They are an exact copy of the HP. They are very well built. If you can get one for 200$, grab it. I have had one for over 20 years. It was a KBI import one. The blueing job on this is the equal to any S&W I have seen. The parts are a direct replacement if needed from a real HP.

As a matter of fact, I have it on my side right now. I carry this and a 1911. I go back and forth with the same holster. Which is nice.

Snagged one for 175 back in the day and wish I had several others!

100% HP interchangable including the hated mag safety!

A set of old school Micro sights, low mounted in the slide and a dovetail front, along with removing the mag safety has made this a real handy pistol and I do not miss the Belgium HP I let get away back in the 80's!

For 200 this is sleeper deal and you need to get as many as you can afford as they are dropping of the radar quickly!

Not all FEG's are exactly the same. Some had minor internal changes similar to the S&W 39/59series. I can't find the page but google will get you there, that outlines the generational differences. The best way to tell if it's a true HP clone is the oval on the right side of frame above trigger.

I had one briefly, other than remembering the trigger wasn't at all good, it do remember it being reliable and quite accurate. Wish I had kept it now that I am more comfortable doing trigger work.

Yep, for $200, I'd buy all I could find.

I bought one for $250 a few months ago. The trigger was terrible until I took out the mag safety, but now it's pretty good. Seems to be a very nice pistol, regardless of the price. If you can get one for $200, you can't go wrong.

I got a Mauser marked arsenal refinish a couple of years ago, it is an early model and so a true clone, very nice IMO well worth the money.

I swapped one plus some $ for a Belgium made. While it was a good trade, I'd take another FEG in an instant. Good dependable firearm...

Don't have an FEG but I do have an FM copy of the HP. It's painted with that same thick slippery enamel (or whatever) that the Brits and the Belgians painted their FN FALs with. I don't know about parts swapping because I have never had any reason to replace anything. It just keeps on cooking. It does have a liking for hot loads. If the FEG is anywhere near as good I would definitely get one.

I own a FEG HP and its 100% interchangeable from what I'e determined. There are later models which look like a mix between a Browning and Smith and I don't have any experience with them. I own this pistol and a 1911 in 9mm and I prefer the FEG! Its the pistol in the nightstand while the 1911s are in the safes.

I bought one about a month ago from CDI Sales on Gunbroker for $239 plus shipping. It shoots very well. Barrel is like new and slugged out at .355
My son got a couple of those, and was happy with them also.

I had the FEG clone many years ago but traded it off because it wouldn't feed hollowpoints. That was before I knew anything about 'tuning'.

As stated above, mine had bluing that would rival any S&W revolver. It was gorgeous; it was prettier than any other BHP I've ever held.

The FEG is no more a fake HP than a Kimber is a fake 1911. Patents have a limited life and then they go into public domain, if the product is good then others will make it.

Personally I consider any safeties past grip and thumb a clone, including colt. But that's me. But you're right, the FEG is a hi power as were the charles daily models.
