I have done the cylinders and it worked (emery cloth drill) and I was planning on trying to firelap the barrel. Any suggestions?

take your time and yes beartooth method works. Slug often. I used a minimal amount of trailboss and it made a 44sbh into one of the most accurate guns I ever owned. It works. I just yesterday traded that SBH for a Smith model 357pd in 41 mag. Guy had to have it because how accurate it was. I can do it again and buy another SBH anytime. The titanium scadium 41 mag is another story.

I've used Marshall's method on a few rifles, all were improved. I'm going to do a revolver soon and I'll bet it works great.

I have read about this. What is the reasoning behind using very light loads? That's not to say I disagree with it, just trying to understand.

Prolly to minimize scratching damage. Boolits get pressed against the barrel harder as pressure increases. I've got a Marlin 94 32-20 someone fire lapped into oblivion. Cain't tell whuz rifling and whuz scratches.

I use it whenever needed without hesitation. Go slow and check often.

I wonder how bad the bore was to begin with, and if they used undersized lapping boolits. I've done quite a few, including a really rough bored .32-20, and have no idea how you could lap the rifling out. I ran A LOT of lapping rounds through that one, and it turned a lump into a good shooter.
