I was at a local gunsmith's shop and found it sitting on a shelf covered in dust. I paid $100 for it handles and all. I got it home, cleaned it up and cast about 10lbs of perfect plain base SWC's. This is might be my new favorite mold

Still the best 45acp bullet and the best mold.

It's getting put back to work!! It casts beautifully, almost no rejects. The only minor knock on it would be that at some point the original sprue plate screw was replaced. That makes no difference to me as I bought it use.

Isn't this a beautiful sight!

Looking good. Now just load every thing in the left 2 piles to the right and go empty them and start over.

The absolute best casting mold I have ever used was a four cavity San Diego marked Hensley & Gibbs #256 for the .41 Magnum. I didn't have a .41, so I passed it on to another member here.

$100.00 sounds like a lot of money for a two cavity mold, but I would spend it for a real H&G in good shape. If you think about it, you would spend pretty close to that on a new Lyman and handles, and just which one do you think will do a better job?

Great news! That is THE .45 ACP boolit, and nearly the most accurate one, too.
