Hello all, lets just say in theory... I was thinking about selling my CH4D 9mm 2 die swage set with RN and HP punches. Used, but in good condition. What is the going rate? Thanks all.

the therory is good, the description is lacking some what. what style, thread pitch, for the Swage-o Matic, CH101, or some other style press?

well, Dave gets $290 a set, so anything below that would be a good starting point.
are they strictly pistol 9mm or could you do longer rifle stuff??

They're going for under a hundred in my dreams, so I'll offer...

On that large auction site, you'd be looking at $250 and up. Last minute sniping has driven some to well over what CH4D is asking for new.

250.00 easy.

250.00 easy.
Is that your offer? I personally would say way under that.

OP if you really want to know put them in the swap and selling section with an auction.

No, not my offer, I don't need them. His question (as I took it) was what would they sell for. I see them go on flea-bay for 250.00+ all the time and that is with one punch. If they were .357 I would consider it.

Another dif is availability. There's no backlog for sheepdogalpha.

Well I know Ch4d runs them as production items. Ever 12-18 months they only make a certain amount

Here's my take on this.

They're going to be worth what someone is willing to pay and that's it. You need to keep in mind that they're used and therefore most are going to offer less, ever buy a car?

It's common for companies that make certain things to make what sells, it's common to just have folks place an order and when the company get's what they feel is enough they set up the machine and crank them out.

Me??....I'll never pay more for a used item, never have never will. On something like this I would place an order and know they are new and in spec.

Still didnt answer my question, How heavy of a bullet can you produce with these dies?
I need .354 to .355 and 200gr or more for my Mannlichers.

They can produce a 355. I'm not sure about that weight tho. Some of the other swagers might have some insight

How heavy you can make depends on how much adjustment in that area the dies have.

That said, there's usually a LOT of adjustment available, and I doubt you'll have problems making 200 grain bullets. Mine are Corbin, and I would have no trouble making 250 grain or heavier bullets. 300-350 grain wouldn't surprise me.

YMMV

They should make 200g, with the RN punch. Sheepdog I take it you did not buy them to make bullets with? If you did not, or cannot make a sample bullet to test, take the top adjustment and back it all the way out and take some measurements for us. We need the overall length of the die, the length of the nose punch, and the length of the nose punch.
