The Alps of eastern Pa. in the 40s, 50s and 60s is where all the comedians started for me. They traveled from NYC to the resorts and they all were there for the work and most brought their families. Never a 4 letter word spoken.

Improv like that is not done often anymore. Once in a while you see someone in an Improv theater ask someone in the Audience to throw out an item or job or something and he/she does a schtick based on that but its disappearing. True talent. I wonder at people thinking John Stewart is such a talented and funny guy when he has something like 30 writers on his staff.

Some of the funniest TV was The Carol Burnnett Show when Tim Conway and Harvey Korman got going in a skit and made each other laugh so hard they couldn't do their lines.
