Hey all,
Just cast my first bullets today. I used pure lead with my .457-500 Lee mold. It was honestly a really neat experience and I cant wait to load these up. That brings me to my current question.

I found one source online with a cowboy shooting reload database(I can't seem to find it now and I didn't bookmark it). I had wrote the information down though. The load was with 2400 at 14 grains, and estimated velocity with a 500grn pill was 831 fps.

Has anyone had any experience with this or can you find this in any of your reloading manuals? It's not very easy to find "reduced" loads with this powder.

Thank you for the help.

It's for an encore pistol with a 15" barrel. Thank you Cpileri. That's the website. I'll bookmark it now.

I'm limited on powders since local availability had gone down so much. I had another thread and I think my best options were 2400 or 4227. Both were mid to low 800 fps.

Look up 44man he has posted some good reports out of a 45/70 pistol. IIRC his favorite powder is 4759, but I could be wrong.
