Rather than getting the best tool for the job, I tend to get a tool that fills a number of uses but none very well. Hence my use of the 358-125-RF which can be sized to .356 for 9mm or "as cast" for .357. The Lyman 429 is recommeded for sizing the .357 but is there a top punch that will work for both?

Looks like a #429 should work:

The #429 will work when sizing to .358 but is the punch diameter too large to use in a .356 sizing die?

Your only looking at .002 difference. You can chuck it in a drill and with sandpaper turn the outside down in short order if it was necessary.

just sayin, Mike
