Just obtained a Colt Pocket Hammer Model made in 1915 chambered in 38 ACP. My goal is to use the Lee 125 TL RN bullet made for 9mm. The first loads with some old 3.8 grains red-dot and Lyman 356402 would not cycle the action reliably to eject. The next reloaded rounds are with 4.3 grains bullseye and 4.0 bullseye behind a 125 jacketed 9mm bullet. I don't have any 130 FMJ to try.

I've loaded many tens of thousands of max load .38 Super, but never any
at the .38 ACP level. Add a few tenths of a grain of powder at a time until you
get the ejection to work properly. Load about 5 of each. 356402 should work
fine. What diameter are you sizing?

I think Hornady has load data for the non super 38 ACP, let me know if you need me to look......

Oh, and by the way, "Just obtained a Pocket Model made in 1915 chambered in 38 ACP." is a statement that needs to be verified by photographic evidence.............. Pretty please???

Nice.

Lyman's 39th recommended a 125 358-242 grain Lead boolit with 4.0 grains of Bullseye. I have loaded a few 38 ACP for a 1902 Military, but I can't find that data. I don't know what I used.

thanks, I did look in the Hornandy book and found loads that use my gun for its test gun, so that is great and I will stop when I get good functioning. It looks like the first load I tried was below what hornandy recommended for a starting load. I tried loading a pic from my I-phone and it failed.
