Hello,
I recently made a trip to the local fun yard aka scrap yard and found some ingots that I am having trouble identifying what type of metal I found. The "mont" ingot weighs 3 pounds. It is broken in half, I did see a whole ingot while digging in the lead bin that I believe had "bell" or "bel" written on it. I melted down this mystery ingot and found that it melted in a lot less time than it takes to melt lead. I poured the mystery metal in a 9mm Lee .356 124gr mold, it dropped a 112gr bullet. A tin bullet from this same mold produced a bullet that weighed around 86gr. I preformed a specific gravity test, the SG came out to 9.8g which matched Bismuth on the SG chart I found on Google. Does anyone have experience with Bismuth or ever heard of this "Bell Mont" or "Bel Mont" ingot? Is Bismuth worth anything to anyone? I know that pewter & tin ingots go for $10-$18 per pound on eBay. Bismuth on the other hand is going for $25 per pound on eBay but there are maybe 4 listings. http://img.tapatalk.com/d/14/01/01/teqe7ude.jpghttp://img.tapatalk.com/d/14/01/01/uruzaqyh.jpghttp://img.tapatalk.com/d/14/01/01/edybevyn.jpghttp://img.tapatalk.com/d/14/01/01/6a3u8e4y.jpghttp://img.tapatalk.com/d/14/01/01/7uha8e4a.jpg
