Been married 9 years to a great gal. Neither of us had been before.

One evening shortly after we'd married, my wife leading the way into the house with the dogs and cats wedged between us ........ I am in the tail of the procession ....... and I quipped:

"I suppose if the horses came inside ........ I'd be behind them as well?"

My wife answers:

"It's a good thing you got your place in this outfit figured out so quickly!"

Now the reality is that she's actually not like that ........ but we both have a good sense of humor which is good because she's a natural good shot ...... plus, her idea of a good gun is her own Rem 870 12 ga.

Years ago I was in town one day with a bunch of errands for my business and took a little "time out" in a local gun store. A Stevens 44 rifle caught my eye and whispered in my ear and the next thing I knew I was asking the clerk "what's the date?" as I was filling out the infamous yellow sheet. When he told me, "June 2" I said, " Oh, that's my anniversary". He said, "well, you're pretty much dead". "No, I have a plan," I said. So when I got home that evening I said to my wife."Look at this nice gun I got you for our anniversay". She looked at me, looked at the gun and said,"That's nice, honey.......you're getting pearls". That is when (after 24 years) I knew for sure this marriage was going to work.

If I presented those to the wife, I would have pierced ear lobes and get to wear them 365/yr. Son tried the earring thing when he was young and not very smart. He decided I meant it, that I would pull them out if I saw them again. His name is NOT Sue.
