Lyman 429421 and Power Pistol

I'm looking for a "new" upper mid-range 44 mag load and was hoping to get some help. I saw some loads in the latest issue of Handloader using 9.5g of Power Pistol and was wondering if anyone had experience with the combo or possibly a pet load. I typically use Unique for this purpose but Power Pistol is easier to meter. The pistol is a 629 5" Classic and the boolits are 50/50 WW and Range Scrap with Lyman Alox lube. Any info would be great because I couldn't find really anything anywhere else.... Thanks

9.4 Unique, 8.5 of Unique, 6 of tight group, 18.5 of 2400 11 to 12.5 HS6
and the winner is--- 10 grains of long shot.
Now these work for me, but I have to add that you should work up your loads.

10 gr of Longshot? Humm, I just bought a pound of this very powder because I was wanting something in the 2400 burn rate area but the store had none. Thanks for the info gray wolf! BTW, what kind of 44 are you shooting that load out of?

Hi, for plinking & targets I use between 8.0 & 9.5 of Unique, for hunting or full pop shooting, fill it with H110.

9.0 of power pistol is reccomended by Brian Pearce and shoots well in several .44's for me.

I use 9.0gr Powerpistol in a 45/8's FT Blackhawk for 1056fps with a 429421 in 44 Special. I like that load. Should be close with maybe a grain or grain and a half more in a 44 Mag.
