I may be getting ready to embarrass myself, but why does no one make a 32-20 neck size die? Lee says that it's too short for their system, is that true with all makers? Maybe I don't really need one, but just curious why they don't seem to exist.

I did not see a 32 cal listed but if you can't find anything else send an inquiry here. I use the Meacham Neck size die for my 45-70's.

Are you talking a true 32-20 with the .311 .312 bores or the 32-20 AKA 30-20 with a .308 bore ?
Redding makes a NK. dir for the 30-20

I use Redding F.L. 30-20 die and just back the die out of the press enough to not touch the small shoulder of the case but size most of the neck. Works OK for my Contender........Terry

Maybe a .32 ACP die backed out or with a travel limiter for the ram? Or ream an old .30 Carbine die a bit larger up to the neck area?

Lyman 310 dies neck size only. You could get one of those with the adaptor that lets them be used on a regular loading press.

I have been using the Redding neck sizing die for my 30/20 (32/20 with a 308 bore ) for years, its a 30/20 TC neck die . I also added the carbide expander ball.

That's my suggestion too. I've used a 310 neck size die to load a bunch of .32-20s and it works fine./beagle

I modified a 7.62x39 collet die, some work but not too bad if you have a lathe
for my No.2 RB, I use the LEE factory crimp die..size the bullet to just slide into the fired case and use the factory crimp to hold it there...never tried this method with my Model 53 Winchester

I'm wanting this for one of the Husqvarna single shots. I was just surprised that RCBS/Lyman/Lee didn't make one. Some good options here, thanks everyone.

I have Hornady 32-20 dies. I just adjust the full sizer die to size the neck.

I bought a 32-20 neck size die from C & H last year. It was a stocked item at that point.

Thanks Square butte, I somehow missed that when looking before. They list one for $32. This sounds like the way to go.

hendere,
What is the specific issue you want to address with the neck die?

I've been guilty of accusing others of trying to correct problems that aren't a problem, I may very well be doing the same thing. I've neck sized in other calibers in the past to make the brass last longer and enjoy not using case lube. I'm not sure that I shoot well enough to worry about any real increase in accuracy to be honest. I just got curious why they weren't commonly available wondered if there was a reason.

I am all for avoiding case lube. The pistol silhouette shooters get around it by using the .32 H&R.
I already have a lot of 32 -20 brass so a neck die might be a good idea. I have a form and trim die that might work made by Redding. I guess I will find out though I will have to live without the decapper.

What I do is set the die up to full length size, then use shims made from the tops off china mart ice cream tubs. With 3 of these I can adjust the amount I size the length of the neck to get the grip I'm looking for. Works very well with long necked cases, 30-30, 30-40 krag, ect, have also used it with the tcu cases while trying different dia boolits.
