Anyone here have measured chrono data from your 6" - 7.5" 44 Maggie?

My 6.5" 'Pro-ported" (S&W factory comp) 629 does about 1425 with 20.0
of 2400 and 429421, starline brass, CCI-300 primer. Avoid magnum
primers with 2400, causes fliers. Drove me nuts until I went back and
re-read Elmer's book. :roll:

Lyman 429421 with 22 gr 2400
6" barrel Hawes 1325 fps
7 1/2" barreled Ruger BH 1412 fps

RCBS 429-250-SWC wit 21 gr 2400
6 1/2" barreled Ruger BH 1274 fps
With 22 gr 2400 1331 fps

Both cast of WWs. Have GB mould just haven't used it yet.

It's been many years, but as I recall, when I had only one .44 Mag. it ran 1375 with 22gr 2400, CCI std. LP primer. Gun: M-29 6-1/2 in bbl.

Now that I have several .44s, it might be a pleasant task for next time at the range to test the load in several guns and with several different powder charges.
