got a 1944 vkt m-39 finn rifle from wholesale guns&ammo about 2 years ago, and while it shoots good with about any cast boolit load , i have been working on finding "the load" for this rifle on and off for the last 2 years and it looks like i may have found it. im using lapua brass, 155gr lee sks boolit, hard cast and water dropped, sized .312 and t/l, cci-200, 21.5gr turk pull-down powder. tested this load last friday afternoon at 100 meters. temp was 98 degrees, cross wind of 10 to 15 mph. shooting from a portable bench rest using front and rear bags, this load consistently grouped under 2" [10 shot] total rounds of this load fired was 50 rds. the lee 155 gr boolit performance in this rifle is the strange part, i had been working with heavy weight boolits before [ 314299. 190gr lyman target, 185gr lee etc.] but none shot as well as the 155gr lee in this rifle. .....sc03a3

...........Nice report and thanks for shareing. Sounds like a nice rifle that shoots very well. The only thing I can think of about the Lee C312-155 2R is the diameter of the nose. Does it engrave? Perhaps it fit the leade very well or the nose just fills the thoat? Hopefully you got one of the 6 cavity custom moulds!?

buckshot, i beagled the mold to get a bit larger nose dia. they fell out of the mold at .315, then i sized to .312. they start to engrave about 3/16" in front of the driving bands, i wanted to order one of the 6 cavity molds but was short on funds at the time, i hated to miss the group buy because the 155gr lee boolit is my favorite .30 cal. boolit,i use it in 30/06,.308,7.5x55,7.5x54, and now the m-39 finn. ...sc93a3
