Anyone used the Lee hand press with cast bullets? I am new to this and thinking of getting one to use with my Lee 309 170 f gas check mold for my pre 64 Winchester 94. Any thoughts? Thanks Craig .

It should work the same as using jacketed bullets. Not quite sure what you are asking?

Works just fine.

Ditto.

Just takes up less space.

The trouble with the Lee Hand Press and cast boolits is that it may become so addicting that you spend so much time with them, your friends and family forget what you look like. Does that clear it up? :-)

I have two, and yes that clears it up.

If you're talking about reloading, yep, it works good. If you're talking sizing bullets, yep, it works good. Been there, done both...

In my youth I loaded thousands of cast in my 30-30 with a Lee Loader hand tool. Those were real leans days. Used to go to the Automotive Wreckers and pull off WW. Molded boolits on a Coleman Stove in a cast iron frying pan (Mom was not happy about losing her pan - lol) and I would hand apply the lube because I couldn't afford any type of lubing method. I shot the 30-30 with a light charge of Hi Skor 700X and they were unsized. It was pretty much as cheap to shoot as my 22 LR and more fun too.

I got to be an amazing shot with my old 30-30. Those were great old days.

Have fun.
