So my Bro picked himself up a couple new levers (Win 94 375 BB & Marlin GG 45/70) and asked me to cast him some boolits.
I took my batch of Lyman #2 Alloy and proceeded to cast & water drop them. I figure these should be a good hard alloy for all his needs.
His Marlin GG came with 2 boxes of HSM Bear Load rounds and found them to be a "molar loosening" round lol. I said I'd help him out so I did up 30 WD#2 405gr Lee casts and some .375 Lee casts and Lee 45 252gr SWC for my Win 94 Legacy in 45 Colt.
Kinda like a belated Xmas present.
Happy Holidays All ;)

I could never see water dropping #2 Lyman alloy for hunting!
1, I don't hunt anything TOUGH enough to need it
2, I could not seem to get CONSISTENT results. I was getting nearly 2400 fps with a 30-06 and the 311041 GC cast from Lyman#2.

I just wanted to try it. If it kills it worked.
Here in Canada we have BIG deer, moose, elk & worst of all rabid mutant gophers........

Ahh they are a very elusive creature. I took a couple 'doe" RMG's last summer I caught them off guard. I used my Pedersoli .32 Frontier.

It takes a lot to make me sad. That pic makes me sad. Is that small fluffy pile of guts on the ground your "rabid mutant gopher" trophy! Maybe you should be using a BB gun?

As I understand it, they breed like rats, 2 = 1,000 in about 8 weeks, so go shoot some more.

Actually, can I come? I just got a 45-70, so I'll fit right in.

Hmm: Like using a 20#maul to open your mould and knitting your under shorts out of bailing wire....he hit that gopher with a smoke pole!?!
