91625 is actually our old griddle. It has plenty of surface space to keep ingots hot as well as my molds. It has a max temp of 400* so I don't have to worry about overheating the molds or melting the ingots. My boolits are perfect with the first cast after sitting on the griddle and anytime I need to stop for a bit. Anyone else use a griddle instead of a hot plate?

A couple/few using electric frying pans with cut-out so you can lay molds flat. First time I have seen electric griddle used for pre-heating, which needs no "cut-out." Nice, I think I may go this route. I was going to expropriate wife's electric frying pan and get her a new one. Now I think I will check thrift stores for griddle. I like it.

I use a burner in my electric stove.... About 6-7 is the correct heat temp that i use to heat up my molds...

If I can get that for $20.00 and it goes to 400 degrees, I'm in.

and it still works great to put an old saucepan on it when making boolit lube

all ya need to do now is rig a frame to hold molds with out the ingot counter balance.

This could easily hold two Lee 6 bangers, on thier sides, while casting. I suggest stationing them on the side as I believe, from experience, that this helps retain heat in the sprue plate.

I firmly believe that poorly filled out bases are caused by to much cooling of the sprue plate but rigging them to stay put with handles attached may be a bit of a chore, LOL!

The griddle is a nice idea that needs further exploration, keep us posted on it.
