Had a thought occur to me and did the turkey up like this. Meat was sure moist and tasted a little smokey.91563

I always do a wild turkey like that, never did it with a butterball. BBQ pork roast here to day!

Take two sticks of soft butter and toss in a food processor. Then cut up 8 strips of bacon into 1 inch pieces, and toss into the same food processor. Blend into a paste - carefully separate the skin from the breast and rub 2/3 under the skin and 1/3 on the outside. To die for...

Now put that bird on a Weber kettle indirect heat with lump charcoal for a couple hours... I make them that way all the time. Same for herb butter under the skin.

Lots of great ideas here. Those wild turkeys just wouldn't cooperate this year though.

Coming home from picking up a corn/pellet stove today there were at least 2 dozen wild turkeys on and alongside the road

It's great the amount of those things there are out there these days. We have a few around this area but not like the geese we have.

That's a bacon weave...seen that on you tube " epic meal time". And bacon strips, and bacon strips, and bacon strips.!!! LOL
