Crimp groove in powder coated boolits?

Will I need a crimp groove in my custom made mold with no lube grooves, with the powder coated smooth sided boolits? Please move if in the wrong forum.

Taper crimp for the autoloaders, you'll have to do some math to figure out the final sizing so that the taper crimp does not size down the boolit too much. Size the boolit so that when the diameter of the loaded, crimped cartridge, minus twice the case wall thickness at the case mouth, equals your groove diameter plus .001-.002. Then test in your guns chamber for proper head spacing, or get a Wilson case gage for that cartridge. Sounds more complicated than it is.

A lee Factory crimp die for the rimmed cartridges is capable of making a crimp into the boolit.
