Kungfustyle,
.
I've never heard of a Lyman 57 "FN". My web search brought me to a current ebay auction. Starting at $29.99, that rear peep sight looked like it had a bent top bridge. I don't know if the Lyman 57 FN will fit a Mauser 98 action or not. (Lyman's current catalogue lists SME & SMET for Mausers at $99.99). It wouldn't be worth it to me to purchase an "FN" only to find out that I'd have to do any retrofitting to get it to work, when I can purchase a new Williams 5D-JEMS for $36.99 + shipping at Midway. Those do fit Mauser 95 and 98 actions.

Just a thought. I hope this helps,

I just saw the sight, wow, great price. I also saw that Midsouthshooters has the for Lyman's for 75. Do you know if the Williams are adjustable like the lyman's? Shooting cast bullets out to 200 yards it would be nice to know the settings for the range your shooting.

The Williams JEM fits Jap, Enfield and Mauser and is not click adjustable like their FP model. Still a nice peep for the money, though.

The Williams 5D (originally meaning $5, how long ago was that?) has a set screw for a elevation stop. There is a flush slot screw for locking the elevation and there are also hash marks in white on gloss black anodization. There are also two windage screws and double sets of threaded holes in the bridge. The peep site bracket as oblong slots for further fine tuning. For aluminum and $30 it's not bad. I'd prefer steel, but those bend too. The mounting holes on the Williams 5D are the same distance apart as a Redfield peep site if helps any.

The FN sight differes due to the hole spacing.
The commerical FN actions were drilled for a metric hole spaceing.
Other than that it should be the same.
US hole spacing is .625. The FN is probably 16mm. (.630)
