mountan men casting

i have a question if the mt men cast there ball over a camp fire what kind of casting pot did he use
i have always heard that thay carried a pot for boiling a small cast iron frying
pan a tin cup so i would think he used the frying pan to cast his boolits i guess thay never heard of lead polsining i never heard of any problums

Probably had an iron ladle. Melted in it and poured from it.
