Anyone make a barrel for the 03A3, military configuration, but chambered instead for 308 (7.62nato) instead of 30-06?

That is going to take a good man with a lathe and a heavy blank to start with.

I believe Criterion makes one. They also have replacement .30-06 barrels,,, as well as replacement barrels for Garands in both .308-.30-06, and 18&24" variations of both calibers.

OOPs was going 2 say any barrel maker makes a .308 for an 03 but see the Mil config. Don't know, but I'd contact some of the specialty barrel makers that make match barrels. I use Hart, Lilja, Kreiger, etc. & I'll bet you can find one, & one that is really accurate.
I've had & still have one 03 with sporter .308 barrels that are tack drivers.

Back in the day of military rifles thru the mail into the mid 70's, importers modified many countries rifles into something more friendly to Americans. A lot of Swiss 1911 rifles were rebarreled with two groove 03A3 barrels which were shortened and rechambered to 308. I have seen Springfields done likewise. It would not be too hard to set back an original 03A3 barrel and chamber it to 308.

I have an 03A3 set up with a pair of 2-groove barrels which can be swapped, one being set back and rechamered. 308, the other in '06, works fine.
