I bidding on a browning bda heel release has one mag I was wondering If you could take off the plastic heel on a sig 220 mag and make it work

Haven't tried it myself, so take this for what it costs you, but a fellow at the range told me the factory, flat, steel based mags MAY work. It was supposedly a case by case thing, with some mags working and some not. He was trying to sell me a Browning, but I already have a p -220, so I passed.
