I'll start every year we delivery

Monster Cookies

Ingredients
48 oz jar creamy peanut butter
1 pound of unsalted butter, softened
A dozen eggs
5 cups packed light brown sugar
4 cups granulated sugar
2 teaspoon salt
2+ teaspoon vanilla extract
2 cup multi-colored chocolate candies
2 cup chocolate chips
1 cup raisins, optional
8 teaspoons baking soda
18 cups quick-cooking oatmeal (not instant)

1 cup raisins or Walnuts, optional

Preheat 350 Deg Oven

Put butter in large bowl - add Sugar & brown Sugar and beat until butter lightens in color
add vanilla, baking soda, salt and eggs one at a time then add peanut butter a little at a time.

Take the bowl off the blender and hand mix in M&M's, chocolate chips, oatmeal and if you want raisins or walnuts - you'll need 3 baking sheets to do it easy - cover with parchment paper or silpat
on each one you'll get about half a dozen hand size cookies - take a wad of dough about the size of your palm (smaller than a tennis ball if you got big hands) and make it into a patty (like a hamburger patty) place out 1-2 inches apart on the cookie sheet - when the first sheet is filled put
in the preheated oven - set a timer - (10 - 12 min depending upon your oven) you DON'T want to see these change color - after it's done let it set on the cookie sheet while you put the next one in and bake it 10-12 min - when that sheet comes out put the 3rd cookie sheet in and you than then loosen the cookies from the first cookie sheet - wait an additional 5 min and move them off to a rack or plate and reload the first cookie sheet to go back in - keep the cycle going until out of dough.

 Enjoy - these are rich and usually one or two to a person is all you need deliver.

What would you say is a "ball park" number of cookies a single batch of ingredients makes?Robert

There was something very similar to this in the breakroom on Thursday. Tasty, and like you say, very rich.

4 dozen or so - depends how thick and large you make 'em
- I tend to make them larger than my wife does, guess that's cause my palms are larger ;).

One helpful hint
- buy your oats in the cardboard tube.
Then don't make your cookies any larger than the inside of the tube.
The tube then becomes the delivery canister for the cookies!

Tried something new - soaked the raisin's in run while making up the dough - needs work as didn't plump up enough but going to work on the concept.

Sounds/looks good! Except for the rasins........I hate rasins! Mabe white rasins in moderation.

Peanut butter and choclate works! YUM! We buy that HUGE 10# cardbox of Quaker Oats at Costco. I eat oatmeal every morning. It magically does reduce cholesterol a bit.

Merry Christmas. And don't gain TOO much weight eatin' those cookies!!!!!!!!

without raisins and with or without the nuts (pecans). Say the word

I usually make a batch of jerky to give away but this year nothing is getting done :-| to much neck pain, no sleep, struggling to breathe on the left side leaves me worn out. CT Myelogram today, hope it shows what is pinched and screwing up my muscles on the left side

I have been making chocolate chip cookies every Christmas Eve for 31yrs straight now. It started in 1983 when we were too poor to afford presents, and it just sorta caught on, the nieces and nephews asking every year "Is Uncle Doug making cookies?" and it became a family tradition that I have kept even today. I often choose a few random friends and send them a box of cookies right after Christmas. Spread the cookie love! :bigsmyl2:

I won't steer Artful's thread, but might start one for these but the Monster Cookies look AWESOME!

I will soak craizins in brandy overnight for apple pie. Rum raisins are very similar. Fully plumped in about 12 hours.

LOL , mom made a heck of a lot of candy to give away to friends and neighbors at Christmas . I saw her making a huge batch and we didn't get any .......................it was hid ! Found a big stash in the top kitchen cabinet when I was around 10 years old , started sneaking a few pieces , she had it in the old metal Folgers coffee cans . I was standing on the counter with a can getting a few pieces out when dad walked in the kitchen . Me standing on the counter was a strange circumstance and he asked me what was going on . I tried to think of a way out of my indiscretion but there was none . Told him I found mom's Christmas candy , he stood there a second and said .................What kind is there ? We periodically snagged a few pieces , I would shake the can up to kind of 'fluff' up the remaining candy to compensate for the 'lost' pieces . Worked pretty good till we ran out of 'fluff' and got caught and mom was mad .

I googled it the other day and couldn't find it. I is not made with peanut butter and it uses baking chocolate instead of cocoa powder... last batch I made 2 years ago I used a Ghiradelli 70% dark chocolate.

Should I put up the Oreo Truffle video I'm trying this year?

Oh why not

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GDTu6IBy6S8

I used Raspberry Oreo's

easy to make - you can just dust the balls with sugar coating
and avoid the chocolate dip.

Ok, as the Oreo Raspberry Truffles didn't last long :veryconfu

So I looked for something else to do with the remaining package
of Oreo Chocolate filled found a recipe for Rum/Brandy Balls -

1 pkg of Oreo's but thru the food processor to grind to meal state
1 pkg of Vanilla Wafers but thru the food processor
1 1/2 cup of mixed nuts but thru the food processor
3/4 cup powdered sugar
1/2 cup of Rum or Brandy
{*} I used salted nuts so no need add salt.
mix together into a large dough ball and let rest
- after a couple of hours see if it's thirsty :drinks:
if so give it a splash or two more of Rum or Brandy.

Let rest again
- then make them into quail egg size balls
and roll in powdered sugar, If it was real thirsty you may need
to roll in powdered sugar more than once.

If you want to kick it up a notch you can add cinnamon to the outside sugar coating or

You can use Coconut Rum and but some coconut shreds
in the outside coating or

You can insert a surprise inside the Rum ball before coating!

Suggestions:
couple of Semi-sweet chocolate morsals
single large M&M
Dark Chocolate chocolate drop
Chocolate/Mint Drop
Candied Spiced Pecan

Well, you get the Idea.

As this is a no cook Rum/Brandy Ball it will have Alcohol
So make your victims, I mean Guests aware to go easy on them. :bigsmyl2:

That's cool Artful, I do the same thing, I bake a bunch of awesome chocolate chip cookies, then pick a few off my FB friends list and surprise them! This year I sent out 3 small boxes via 1st class mail on Tuesday the 26th, and they were all delivered today the 28th in MI, TN, and FL. Pretty danged good of our USPS workers, which I put our favorite carrier a little bag in the mailbox along with barrels and cylinders going back out and he was quite happy.. None of them made it past our block I bet!
