Will this mold work well for my winchester 94 3030? It is a pre64 and the bore slugged 309. I would be mixing 50 50 WW and Pb and would use it for deer hunting. Will I need to size the bullets?

In my limited experience with Lee molds, they seem to drop close to their advertised size. I think that bullet will work well for you, if you can get it to cast good bullets (I've always had trouble with Lee 2 cavity molds). It's designed for .30-30 lever guns.

I use mine in a Win 94. Sizing ends up being moot, since I have to size it to apply the checks that I use. My attitude is "why not size?"

Excellent choice for your M94. I do suggest you add 2% tin to your WWs before mixing with the Pb. Much better alloy that way and it will most often cast much better bullets. I use that alloy for my own rifle hunting cast bullets. I've used the 311041 for 40+ years on deer out of numerous M94s. The Lee 170 gr is a good replicate.

I honed the nose of my old single cavity 170 lee fp so it just rubbed the bore on the nose and it shot like nothing else.
I am really p$$d I finally butchered it up.
I'd use a gloved hand to cut the sprue and cast for good bullets not volume if I done it again.

Yup! I shoot that boolit in my 94 with decent accuracy. By that I mean I can get 2 inch groups consistently with my receiver sights at 100 yards. My rifle seems to prefer the lee 150 grain FN but the 170 is the classic 30-30 load. I shoot mine at 1800 fps, and woe to any deer standing within 100 yards! 50-50 may not want to go that fast but if it does that alloy really lays the smack down on game. It will expand a bit and hold together really well. All the game I have shot with cast so far have been with 50-50 WW-Pure. Now go load some up!

I am thinking of getting this mold myself but my barrel slugs at .3105 roughly. What does this mold drop at? I dontwant to buy one and it drops too small.

I don't have that mold however I have the Lee C309-160R it drops at .312" and the CTL312-160 2R and it drops at .314" Both with COWW.

My CBE 309 162 is very close to that profile and shoots wonderfully well.
