Hey all,

I recently got a lyman 429649 mold from a generous member of this board from idaho.... :). I got it casting the way i want now, and the boolit is weighing in at about 340g lubed and checked...

My go to bullet for the 44 mag is the lee 430-310 and this is what i pratice with, and shoot regular.. I am good with it... But i have never shot anything that large before.... Largest was a 320 buffalo load that i used to buy before i started casting myself.. The round will fit fine sized to 310 in my 44...

Does anybody have any experience with this boolit? I was planning to shoot it with ramshot enforcer at 16gr.... I only have a small amount of 2400 left, under a lb, but will be trying that as well....about 16 grains..... I have pleanty of unique but have been advised that it may be a bit much on the pressure side with unique....

Any opinions would be appreciated...

Wow... 44 views and not one thought??? Everybody must be either sick, snowed in, or the board must be *****'ed....:kidding:

Ah well, no joy....

I use the rcbs 250k mold. It drops about 260gr. My best load so far is 7gr of autocomp. I don't shoot full house mag loads.

16 grains of 2400 seems a bit hot for a 340 grain boolit in 44 mag. I start to see case bulge in my marlin 44 at 16.8 grain with a 265 grain boolit.

Probably just the Marlins chamber. 19.5 gr of 2400 is a max load for a 270 gr cast in the 44 magnum.

The round will chamber fine sized to 310 in my 44...

I'm a bit confused, what does this mean ?

What I was trying to say ben was boolits sized to 310 fit well in my cylinders lol and my 44 is slugged at 309, and the OAL is ok..... Slip up there in my old guy speech... What happens when you are talking rifles and then switch to wheel guns :veryconfu

I know you said 429649 but I shoot the Lyman 429650 (320 grains) in a SRH…

The follow 3 loads were quite accurate. The heavy duty ones will hit a groundhog-sized silhouette at 200 yards 90% of the time and at 150 yard just darn near every time. All from a good bench rest…

I have shot 19.5 grains of H-110 and CCI-350 for 1277 fps…

I have shot 16.0 grains of WC-820 (#9 burn rate) and a CCI-350 for 1166 fps…

I have shot 5.3 grains of Trail Boss and a CCI-300 for 654 fps…

Also, but not very accurate 5 grains of 700X and 6.0 grains of WW-230…

Good-luck…BCB
