Well, the season for deer is over in my part of the state. Ended Dec 14.

No deer for me this year, so far. :(

I have two last chances for a deer and some venison.

This weekend, the family is headed over to my Brothers house for Christmas. Where he is it's still open season either sex. And the next weekend after Christmas I'll head over to his house to try again.

Wish me luck!

Its been a tough year in many places especially in the piedmont of NC .. hear it all the time from my customers this year...
this year I have hunted more than any year in the past and have seen the fewest number of deer ever..

Just buy a new vehicle and go for a drive... Have a friend who does vehicle body work and he stays well fed through new car sales and deer collision damage.

yea, nothing gets by me no matter the size, I just didn't see ANY deer

Same here...got lots of stand hours this year...no deer. Tons of turkey though, flock of 10-20 birds in front of the blind for almost 30 min this am.

Good luck, Blammer! My next (and last) trip will be take-no-prisoners as well. Saw plenty of deer last trip, didn't find one I wanted. This time I won't be so picky.

Blammer i've gone deerless so far too but it's kinda been by choice. Seeing nothing but yearlings, so far not even a mature doe. Scrapes everywhere you look but the bucks are nocturnal so far. I haven't shot a deer with a cast rifle boolit and the freezer's empty from last year so the yearlings better stop coming around...trigger finger's getting itchy. Good luck if you do get another chance to go!

Throw rocks. Hunted with a guide for years (former pro baseball player) who could could toss a rock down into a canyon as far as I generally wanted to shoot. Amazing how critters will appear when rocks start raining down around their beds.
