I have an Encore Pro Hunter in 223 and they tell me it has a 1 in 12 twist. Does anyone know if the 22 cal Lyman mould #225462 CB (about 60 grain) will stabilize in my rifle 0k? Got a chance to pick up this mold.
Thanks and Merry Xmas to you all.
Musky.

I shoot it in my Rem 700 .223 & .22-250's..both have a 1 ~12 twist. It is quite accurate. I use 8.0 grains of Unique in both with Standard pistol primers. In the .22 Cal w/cast bullets you'll have to experiment a bit to obtain an accurate load. In my experience load the bullet long so it just touches the leade. I then load them single shot.

Get the mould now! It stabilizes just fine in 14" twists.

I've shot from a 788 which I think has the slow twist . Easy mold to cast with and I like it a lot .

My 1-12 Rem 700 likes it. I bought it years ago second hand. Had no use for it but it was a double with a top punch and cheap. A few years later Erik HPed a cavity for me and WOW, what a bullet.

Well I guess I will try and buy it off the fellow. I was like you Jeff not too sure if I want to get into molding 22 cal. Jacket ammo is so cheap and I have so many other projects/calibers on the go right now. Thanks Lads.
I look at good molds as investments.
