Thought it was a Troll listing. And then I saw the seller's feedback. No matter what it's ridiculous.

I seen a link on another forum asking if this was for real. I followed the link to see what they were asking about and thought it was funny so I posted it here.

Hmmm.... Half a tank of gas, $15 in tolls, $10 to get in and apparently the $50 a brick they wanted for .22LR at the Harrisburg show was still a bargain. I really screwed up. I should have cleaned the place out.

I have a modest cartridge collection and I wouldn't mind paying $1.50 for one that I wanted (NOT THAT ONE) But I do so at a show where I don't have to pay TEN FREAKIN BUCKS FOR SHIPPING!!!

I AM RICH AND DIDN'T KNOW IT.

Yes as I have a nice UNOPENED brick sitting on the kitchen table and it has been carefully aged (at great expense to the seller).

It will be auctioned off starting today.

A starting bid of $1,500 (because the brick is now a collectors item don't you know) is required.

Shipping will be thru Fed Ex but will be expensive due to the special handling of the CRATE necessary to handle this valuable item + insurance.

Let the bidding begin now and run thru the 23rd.

Winning bid must be paid by certified bank draft within 24 hours.

Sorry but Santa can NOT be allowed to handle any lead products or dangerous products so delivery must be delayed till after the first of the year. [smilie=1:

For the price of that one then I know I am rich also for what I have and some of the ones i have date back to the 70's and 80's. now who would pay the high price.Just kidding .it is like one person told me that they had a jar of rusty old nail in at a flea market and a lady said they where collector item and paid I think $20 back then but that was years ago.

I was expecting to see a highly over priced brick....not a highly over priced round.

Isn't anyone going to chime in with the thing about this being a free enterprise system and if you don't like the price, then just don't buy from him? :kidding: That is one nice looking cartridge! What with the import tax and all, I don't see how the guy can sell them at that price.

I haven't seen anyone saying he shouldn't have the right to sell his round for whatever he can get. I see people ridiculing his asking price.

Not me....I just ordered 10 of them and he's cutting me a deal on the shipping.;)

I bet someone buys it. After all, people collect what I call strange things in this business. I have seen people chase down and pay good money for original gun hang tags, owner's manuals, factory boxes, etc. All of those strike me as crazy, but people buy them. I suppose that is whey Baskin Robins had 31 flavors: it takes all kinds.

Alot of people won't buy a gun unless you have the box it came in.

They can list at any price. If it sells is an entirely different matter.

Remember the Clinton high cap mag ban, $125-$150 for 13rd glock 21 mag. Many were sold at that price too ! Penny wise dollar foolish ?
I STILL REFUSE to buy from the sellers that asked those prices then, and I DO remind them at the gun shows that I remember it well !!

But this is AMERICA, Buy what ever you want and your welcome to pay that price !

He sets the price, buyer determines if the price is acceptable. What isn't to like?

Isn't this what capitalism is all about?

$1.49 per round, $74.50 per box of 50 rounds, $745.00 per brick.

You would think the guy would include the shipping and a sloppy kiss on the mouth as well.

Sad thing is I'd bet he sells a whole lot of them. In the used car market there is a saying . . . There is a hieny for every seat.

It doesn't cost him anything to list an ad that doesn't sell...
Meanwhile thousands of people, who otherwise wouldn't have, are looking at his other auctions.

Pretty smart, I'd say.

Don't forget to factor in the shipping charges.

Are these bullets guaranteed to win matches or always shoot one hole groups & take the X out of the 10 ring?

While it is of course very true that he can set his prices however he sees fit and it's true that if someone is foolish enough to pay an absurd price, well, more power to them both. Yes, that is capitalism.

That however has no bearing on anyone else seeing an obvious rip-off and a thief and pointing it out. That too is capitalism.

@ Trapper9260: I can take those old, out of date cartridges off your hands. You know how medicine goes bad over time. Well I heard tell those lead pills can go bad, too. just send them to me an I can dispose of them 'properly.' <LOL:trying to help out a CB Forum member :-)>

If it is WOLF it is made in Germany and excellent ammo.

Look up all of the components used to assemble it right down to the proprietary lube on the boolits.

Yessir, I can guarantee that bullet will shoot a one hole group. You're on your own with subsequent shots, however. I think I'll buy one and then auction off the once-fired brass. Any early bids?

And then sell it at a gun show for double...

Well, if all they can get is $1,490.00 per brick I think they should hang on to it until the price goes up.

While you are quibbling, time is slipping away.

You still have a chance to be the WINNER.

See post #16 and get your bid in before the rush.
