here's my first kill with a cast boolit.it was one of Ranch Dogs wonderful designs too.they are so easy to work with and they flat out shoot

max load of w296 under a 192 grain 35cal ranch dog boolit.i shot the buck comming straight at me so there is a very good chance i will recover the boolit once i skin the deer.if i recover it i will post a picture it

good job--what is that strange thing just behind and between his antlers? Oh that is you. ;)
What is the velocity of the load if I may ask --just curious

Well done -- VERY nice big buck! Thanks for sharing, and please do let us know what the velocity is if possible, alloy and how the boolit behaved.

Take care,
John

im sorry i dont have a clue as to the speed of the boolit.with the same load of w296 under a Hornady 180grain XTP it will break the 2000fps mark.the Ranch Dog boolits are alittle heavyer but in most cases a cast will move faster than a jacketed boolit with the same load.the gun will shoot to about the same zero as the 180grain XTP at 100yds and even out at 200yds

i got alot of penatration.i shot the buck running at me and the boolit entered the neck and traveled into the rib cavity, the lungs were toast and there were big blood clots inside the cavity.im hopeing to find the Ranch Dog boolit when the deer is skinned and we butcher it.ive always been told a hard cast will shoot end to end on a deer

the boolit was cast from straight wheel weight lead and was water quenched to harded it up.i sure hope i find the boolit

Well done! Looking forward to info on the bullet also. Pretty much the same velocity as the old .35 Rem with 200 gr bullets. Should be some good eating there!

Good job Jeff and it's good to see your face! Outstanding buck. I hope to have more news of the latest version soon. Should have my trial molds of the TLC359-190-RF in the next couple of weeks! I captured the picture for the "Trophy Room" that I will have available after the first of the year.

Great deer. I have a 10 in 357 max and have only shot 158 gr j word boolits with it. just wondering what w296 load you are using and what kind of groops your are getting with cb's. I am using 23 gr of h110 it shoots very well with j word boolits.
Thanks Jim

Nice take, I sht the 357 Max in a contender and do very well with it. I use an older Lyman mold that casts a 214 SWC GC bullet. That is what I use and the load don't remember, would have to get my ammo can out to check.

Again, nice hunting!
