What's wrong with the lead from Doe Run, they mine it right there in MO. Why would there be no more lead? Why is Doe Run in the poll? Very confusing. Maybe that would be a good conversation, why Doe Run is in the poll?

Why? Because it lends itself so well to tinfoil hat discussions, strong opinions, feuding.

Nothing wrong with the lead at all but as we have heard 48,294 times in the past 2 months they are closing due to EPA actions and the US won't have any primary Smelters.

Come on Rick, think of fact you won't be able to buy truly virgin lead anymore.

Thought you'd never ask!

So (as LL says) there I was, bigger than life. Back side of an 8-section ranch in the craggy limestone valleys of the West Hill Country. The rancher and I had tracked a wounded mountain lion on foot through the morning, but it was getting hot and we were miles from water. After turning back and hiking for another couple of hours up a goat trail that lead, more or less, back to the nearest windmill, we were starting to see spots that weren't there. Right about the time I stopped sweating and got a tingly dry chill, I noticed the sky was starting to cloud up suddenly for one of our famous afternoon summer heat showers. We found a shady spot under an overhanging rock on the lee side if the sun and waited, sucking on cactus pears for a drop or two of moisture. Then the rain came. But no way to catch the meager, two-minute shower. I tried to catch some in the occular bell of my scope, but not dice. The water hitting the rock formations boiled off almost instantly. BUT, as we were dispairing, we noticed that the trail we'd been following was littered with dried goat hoofprints perfectly formed in mud from a previous rain weeks before. Every one of them was filled with clean, clear water held by the compacted brown adobe mud. We broke off some dead yucca stalks to make straws and drank our fill out of hundreds of tiny, blessed, little goat hoofprints before it soaked in. Like I said, best water I ever drank. Probably got a lifetime dose of Penicillin that day, too, but don't ask me if I cared at the time.

A family very close to me did that with one of their childhood friends of 60-some-odd years, with whom I'd been acquainted for some time as well. He had always said he wanted to go out "with a bang". He died peacefully in his sleep, so they decided to fulfill his wishes by shooting his ashes out of a 2-3/8 salute cannon that they made years before for ringing in new years and celebrating independence day. They shot Dennis off a cliff overlooking his home with 1/4 cup of 2F and a stack of cardboard wads. Lots of crying, cheering, and laughing and getting to be ok with letting go of a dear friend.

It depends. From what they say, the QC department has to stay sober to ensure high quality tactical zombie bacon, bacon grease ointment, and lead/bacon grease based line of children's toys and nursery paint. "Doe run brand paint, the one that sticks with you for a lifetime" is the current motto.
As for the production floor, game on. No restrictions on alcohol or smoking. This is why I applied. They do caution about being drunked up near the zombie and bacon grease blender however. They don't restrict it, just a friendly suggestion.

man if I spilled suma that doe-run bacon grease on the floor I'd twerk my back outta joint.
then the zombies would get me.

oh I went and bought some Velcro today I just hot glued it everywhere on my green suit and one on each boot for good measure..
I think I have about 42 different little packages stuck all over the place,
so hopefully I'm a shoe in for the job now.

the wife really got bent when I velcroed the back door shut.
but I definitely know when someone comes in the house now.
oh and does anyone know where I can get a cup holder for my Armalite M-15nm I really need some doo-dads on it and I think the glow in the dark paint on the front sight and the flat green stocks might not be tacticool enough for the application picture.

Man, this whole site issue is making the cabin fever worse. It is getting bad enough that Runs post almost seems reasonable.

Why do you need a cup holder though? Don't you have a tacticool Camelback? I know a guy who has some he will give to you........

Cupholders are pretty good multiple-taskers. They hold rolls of Velcro, cups, Velcro, the latest edition of tactical bacon AR digest. You can put your 1 billion lumen tactical light in it and signal straight up. Tactical pouch storage. Lots o uses.
Velcroing the doors on your house make good sense. Be patient, she will see the wisdom.
Lights, lots of lights on your rig. That is key. There is no lighting in the Doe run plant so workers have to supply their own. The best way to identify a coworker is to click the light on and jam the muzzle in their face so you can see them better.

Velcro doors on the house? Run, how the heck are you going to sneak back in after a late night out with the boys?

Think man, think. You are digging your own grave

At the risk of getting banned....

Isn't a discussion on zombies basically the same as discussing our favorite mod?

Whew, I made it back here.
It was pretty scary out there in the real world.
Where were we?
I can see where the Velcro doors could blow your cover with the better half. But, if you just deploy your grappling iron from your swat/tactical/Doe run work gear, you should be able to scale to the roof, grease yourself up and slide down the chimney.

Or can we talk about if we could have only one source of pure virginal lead in a closing of Doe Run, what would it be?
Doe Run is not a viable answer.
We could reveal where there are deposits of lead ore that we can mine ourselves and just get rid of the silver that is mixed in with it. I know such a place in far eastern Nevada 50 miles from the nearest town with a herd of elk guarding it next to a fine trout stream.

I'm in for that trip...

notice I only velcroed the back door?
we don't have a key for it.
the front door either now that I think about it.
jeez I live in a small town.

Sounds like Heaven. Gee, I don't have to die first, before entering this splendid place ?

Been looking for some Windage and some Elevation for my P53 Rifle. The Gunshop told me to Phone each Morning. This is the Shop that said their Long Weights where out of stock after keeping me waiting for two hours.I wouldn't mind but I have been in Bed with the Doctor,if he does,nt improve I will have to get another one. What with Post Holes and Lube Grooves I do,nt seem to be having much Luck these days.Thinking of giving up shooting and going for Origami Lessons or Flower arranging.

well you might be able to adapt some elevation from a P-51 to your P-53.
you'll probably have to look to Kentucky for extra windage.
