12 gauge SxS. Steel barrel not twist steel. It has the short chambers.

Mec makes a short kit for their single stage reloaders

Older 600 , 600 Jrs. and the Versa I would say 451whitworth is should have a kit for it.

Interesting ??? I started out loading for 12 gauge, MEC, at 14-15 yrs. No one to show me, I would say all you need an other hole in the stand of the press, but not sure Sizer and De-primer maybe to long Shorter tube at this area ?

Teddy is going in the right direction, I just drilled and tapped another hole in the center bar to drop it down, worked fine. I dont remember having to do anything extra other than the fine adjustments. A MEC 600 by the way, I had to paw thru half a dozen, but found the one marked 2 1/2" on the base.

I made a case gauge the proper 2 1/2" length that accepts a sized case and use it to trim the case with a razor knife to the proper pre-crimp length. There is usually enough of the old crimp to act as a starter for the new crimp. I use my standard trap load with a shorter wad, the shot charge between 7/8 to 1 1/8 oz. I like the straight wall cases, Rio, Dianas, six point, the ones nobody else seems to want. Use PB powder for some nice LOW pressure loads, I cant remember the writer in Colorado that shoots OLD shotguns, but he's the one that started me with the PB..

Hope this helps some.

If the gun hasn't collector value open up the chamber, I rented a reamer and opened up my 20 ga Model 12 from 2 1/2 to 2 3/4. Easy to do.
