Anyone have any experience with these Accurate Molds: 36-150C, 36-140C, 36-140K ? Would like to know how they work in 38 Special and 357 Mag.
How do the 5 cavity molds perform in use ?

I don't have those particular molds, but I have a couple other of Tom's molds. They are beautiful.

His website has the following statement when you go to order. So if you can't decide it's cheap to have 2 or three different designs in one mold. That is just awesome in my book.

"Ordinarily, a multiple cavity mold casts the same bullet design from all cavities; however, it can also be made with a different design in each cavity. Each different design adds $15.00 to the price of the mold."

I have the aluminum single cavity 36-135a, but i have not shot it yet. Tom says this is his personal bullet. Bullets cast veryeasy using Lyman#2 alloy. Be sure to lube under sprue plate to prevent gaulding. The two allen screws on top of mould are for sprue plate adjustment. One at pivot point and one at closing point...both are critical, but easy to adjust.

I have the 36-160Q on order...it is a two cavity iron mould...i like iron moulds best

Christmas came early for me! Today I received molds from both Tom and Mihec. It just doesn't get any better than that!! This is my 5th or 6th Accurate Mold. One is a 3 cav brass for 30-30, the rest are 5 cav aluminum. I prefer higher production, I only wish he made 6 or 7 cav for handgun calibers. They all work very well or I wouldn't keep going back. I don't have any of those you're considering though, so can't comment. A couple positives about AM is that you get exactly what YOU want and get it quickly, no waiting for 6 months to 1yr+. Tom's molds work with no muss, no fuss.

In addition to MP and Accurate, I also have a few NOE's. Every one of them is quality made. I have a handful of Lee's as well...ugh. In fairness, the last one I bought works quite well and produces and nice little bullets (358105) that just happen to not work for my intended purpose. No fault of the mold though.

Sorry to have not been of more help.

I don't have the design you are looking at. I did get a 3 cavity aluminum mold from him end of last month. It came in a little over a week despite the 3 weeks estimate on his site. It is a nice mold and casts right where I speced it to. (.360) I will be ordering more in the future.

I got the 35-147S which is primarily for .357sig but will load it into .357mag to see how it does.

I have the 36-140k but haven't had a chance to shoot any yet. They are all loaded up but won't be able to get to the range until after Christmas. Will let you know then.

Good choice. I believe that lighter weight bullet (no crimp groove...i like) will shoot verygood in the 357mag.

Another sleeper is the RCBS 147gr 9mm

I have the 36-135C. For me it shoots better in 357 Magnum than 38 Special.

Is that number correct? I see no 36-135c in Accurate's catalog

I got Tom to make the 35-168Z for me.
It is used in 357Sig out of 2011 guns for IPSC here in Australia.
I have the Ali 5 cavity and it is sweet to use.
The no groove design is for coating with Supercoat.

Cherokee - I got out to the range today with mixed results. I loaded the 36-140K with with two different loads. They were just a stab in the dark to see how they shot. The boolits were scrap lead around bhn 10 to 12. I loaded 3gr of bullseye in 38 spcl brass and 4gr of bullseye in 357 brass. I have three 357s, Ruger BH, Ruger security six and a SW 27. The SW did not like either load. The BH shot the 38s well and the security six shot the 357s ok. Sometimes the difference was dramatic. The SW could keep the 38s in 4 to 5 inches at 25 yds but the 357s covered 10 to 12 inches. In all guns a 150gr WC was much more accurate in either load. Everything was shot off a rest at 25 yds. More load development will be required

Hope this helps a little

ch - those stab in the dark loads you used are usually good, I'm surprised at the poor performance. My 358477's are good with most any approprate load in any of my 38/357's. That 36-140K looks like just a lighter version of it and I thought it would be good. Have fun with the load development, that's part of the fun of reloading.
