Forgive me for being ignorant I am just starting and wondered if the lee loader will work for 170 grain WW gas check flat nose bullets in my circa 1939 Model 94 3030?

You'll need to bell the case mouth somehow or you'll have lead shaving problems. Something as simple as a nail set or tapered punch will work.

Lee has a flare tool available on their we page for a few bucks. Made for the lee loader kit.

Have you read the part about seating the boolit?
after the case flaring flaring, you seat the CB on the primed and charged case,THEN slide the die over everything, and then tap down with a mallet.Good luck :)

I used to use the inside part of an AP .50 BMG bullet tapped in there with my Lee Hammer Tool. Just a larger caliber spitzer j-word bullet will do it. Obviously, a Lyman M-die expander plug does a much neater job but in a "make-do" situation, a cat's gotta do what a cat's gotta do.

I've loaded lots of 311316s and 311041s with my 30-30 Lee loader over the years. Loaded 2 coffee cans full of 311008s when I first started out loading at 15 years old. I've also loaded thousands of 311410s and 311359s in the 30 Carbine with the Lee loader and 5000+ 429421s in the 44 Magnum. Managed loading a few cast bullets so far in the 35 Rem, .308W and .223 Rem also.

Never had a lick of problem loading cast with the Lee loader but the case mouth flaring tool is needed. It comes with some Lee loaders but can be ordered as mentioned. I started with the tapered bunch and it works jus fine also. You shouldn't have any problems.
