I want to load a bunch of 00 Buck loads using IMR 7625 powder
I had a few loaded last year, and I cannot find my Load data book, that I write my loads down in. (wife finally moved out, and the whole house is a mess!)
I stripped down a case, and it had 24 gr. of powder in it.
I am using ;
AA hull
WAA12R wad
Win 209 primer
IMR 7625 powder
9 lee cast 00 shot
Lee shot scoop of plastic filler

I do not know where I got my original load from, and cannot find in my Lyman book, or IMR website, a load for this powder.
Does anyone have a safe load for this combo. ?
Thanks;Mark

Greetings Silverman, Feel free to read my post on faster buck shot loads here:
http://castboolits.gunloads.com/show...uck+shot+loads
&
VdoMemories Blazing Buck & Ball or Buck & Slugs post here:
http://castboolits.gunloads.com/show...zing+buck+ball

Please stay away from Imitation wads that are not original!!!
The WAA12R and WAA12F114 are discontinued for some time now and no longer available.
You still can buy the WAA 12F114 at a premium price say $25 a bag still but the WAA12R no way!!

Passing the torch of knowledge is something done out of genetic responsibility!

Hoping it helps.
Best regards,
Ajay Madan

That first load is pretty snappy but sadly they don't make the AA12r anymore.

True.

I was desperate enough to try the dreaded Claybuster replacement wad.

Claybuster does not hold up.

Wads are all mangled up.

Money wasted.

I use SR7625 with all buck and bird shot loads in the short 10 the 12 and the 16 . At the moment I'm using SP wads in all 3 gauges for the buck loads . But I use CB wads in the 12 and 16 with bird shot and they seem not to suffer any ill effects .

Blair, a question. Are you trimming the petals on the wads? I looked at using a plastic wad one time and I couldn't get 3 00B to sit in one layer. Comments please and thanks.

No I did not trim the petals.

I was using BPI's nickel plated 00bk http://www.ballisticproducts.com/Nickel-Plated-lead-buckshot-00-8/productinfo/NP00B/

Listed as .320 dia

They layered nicely at 3 per layer

Thanks Blair, I found the problem. I'm using a Lee 00B mold and Lee says it cast at .330. I dug out my old math handbook and did some engineering. I found that using .020" for the petal thickness and .729 as the internal dia. .320 is as large as you can go and fit on one layer. I may have to make a .320 sizer. I wonder how a slightly oblong buckshot would pattern. I'm assuming that a replacement for the WW12R is the WW12F114, maybe.

Claybuster's replacement wad for WW12R

For me they are not holding up, are being mangled.

So I have a bunch of WW12R and WW12F114 replacement wads that I am not happy with.

Wish I would of found this site BEFORE I ordered them.
