I picked up one of these molds to cast boolits and round balls for my Uberti 1858 carbine . I have used lee and lyman molds before but this thing is a different critter. Any info on using this mold would be appreciated

Very thick gloves!

I was thinking it might get warm, I have welding gloves , I will probably have a couple sets out for this adventure

..........I really don't think they were intended to be actually used :-) Reason I think so is I'd picked up a few over the years when I had a couple cap 'n' ball revolvers, and not a one would cast anything worth a Tinker's Dam. I really think they're meant to look nice in a cased set!

Thanks for the straight up truth Buckshot, it seemed kinda dainty when I got it , and the sprue plate looks very easy to bend . I was kinda hoping it was just my lack of experience but I guess I bought some expensive man cave decor lol. The 1858 is my first cap and ball anything , that will probably be learning curve enough without screwed up boolits adding to the problem
