Looking for a receiver sight for my Yugo M48. I am told there were Lyman 48 and Redfield 70 sights for Mausers.
Prefer to keep the original front but open to suggestions. Will be used for informal target at up to 500 yds. Cast boolits.

Any thoughts on:
Which is the better sight, as in repeatable?


Length of slide available? Longer the better.


Prices?

The standard slide in the Lyman SME has more than enough elevation with the original front sight on a M48 for cast bullets to 500+ yards. Been using one for 15+ years now.

You may want to buy and install a taller front sight blade in the original front sight base, if you do not wish to shoot very high at 100 yards, or less.

Thanks for your advice. Found an early steel one on EBay advertised as as new in box and bought it.
