had this gun for about 5 years then traded it to my buddy who had it about 4 years and i finally got it back from him last year on a trade. Probably the only handgun in the safe that hadnt taken game. Fixed that last week. Took a nice fat doe with it using a cast lfn hollow point at about 900 fps. Bullet was cast out of 5050 ww/pure. Hit it right behind the shoulder at 30 yards. Bullet broke into pieces and didnt exit but the deer took one leap and piled up. Might not be perfect bullet performance but i didnt have to track, didnt have to drag and got venison so i cant complain.

Excellent Lloyd!!! I'm kinda surprised the bullet broke up at the velocity. I have shot a bunch of deer with my 45 Colts using a 260 grain bullet from 50/50 alloy at about 900 FPS and have almost always gotten full penetration on broadside shots. Sometimes you just can't explain it.

Deer huntin with a snubbie ! I love it , congrats on some good shootin and tasty eats! Any more details on the load? I've been using 7.2 unique with a 250 swc. Still shootin thru a bunch I bought then going to try some some a little softer from a 429360 I found in a "junk box". TN regs require a 4 inch barrel so I guess no deer for me :p

load was 8 grains of power pistol and a fed primer. the short barrel on this one isnt much of a handycap. Its one of the most accurate revolvers ive owned.

Any bullet that breaks up is a lousy bullet Lloyd, I think of you as a friend, but you know the truth!

8 grains of power pistol has been accurate in several .44 specials with Keith boolits for me.

Lloyd, Seems like you have pretty good luck with Power Pistol. I was just using it in 9mm and .40 and you recommended a .45 Colt load using PP that was very accurate. Congratulations on a well placed shot. FB
