Good job! That's a FAT doe, where is her neck? I'm assuming it's a 45-70 by the gun and bullet weight. She should be tasty!

Greetings and Congradulations !
That sure will stop-em from getting to far. I do like what lead will do.
That rifle sure looks stubby laying there. But using 4227 that barrel could be even shorter. Probably a good dose of 4350 and you could have the deer cooked as it dropped.
I sure do hope in my lifetime ILLinois lets us use even pistol caliber cartridges to eliminate those pesky corn crunchers.

Remlin, I guess nobody told the deer it was a remlin, or she would have just sauntered off unhurt, from what I hear.

I have done my homework on this gun tested many loads for accuracy and recoil this one is my sweet spot. about 1800fps and not much recoil!

For those of us new to the forum, could you please post a pic of your 350gr. RD? Just curious what it looks like as it appears plenty effective.

That doe is a hog! Lots of good eating there. Congrats, when I get done playing with various .30 calibers, I'm gonna have to get back after the .45-70 again.

Been hunting a long time and everytime I take one of these remarkable animals I just sit and look at my kill and thank god for these wonderful creatures, sounds kind of corny but there not much more in life I enjoy to do then HUNT!

Good job! I'm a big fan of that boolit and rifle myself. Looks like a very well-fed young doe, nicely done!

Back in the 1950's and 1960's Ga. was stocked with deer from up Mich. Minn. etc (don't quote me on the actual states), but from "up north". Those deer rut in early Nov. and the does are 140ish lbs killed a few on a friend"s farm over the years that looked like mules. I live in Ala. (War Eagle!) our does are more in the 90-110lb range at 21/2 years and rut in Jan. Ours were stocked from "somewheres else" about the same time. Both subspecies does eat better than bucks. Takes a few years to figure that out.
