I have a Lee C312-185-1R I have used but have not been all that impressed by the results. I slugged my bore and found it was .313. Lee push though dies jump from .311 to 3.14. For the life of me, I do not understand why they don't have a sizing die to match their own bullets The .314 die seats the gas check but doesn't size the bullet at all. I do have a .312 Lyman sizing die and compatible top punch. Lyman sells the only .314 mold, a 200 gr RN ,530-266. Lee and Saeco do not.

Any recommendations based on experience?

I also wondered why Lee doesn"t publish reloading data in their manual for their own cast bullet molds.

I use a Lyman 311284 that drops 'em at .314 and I size them with an RCBS .313 die. They shoot very well.

If you un-sized boolit will chamber I'd say try it out that way. You might like it.

Many MN and Finnish Nagant shooters, including me, have also had excellent results from Lyman's #314299, i.e., IF it casts at least .314" body & .303" nose so you can size it to fit your bore. (My Finn. Mod. 39 needs a .312" CB and my #314299 can be sized to fit it.) As an alternative, and a harder to find one at that, a "fat" Loverin design will also work, as long as you can size it to fit. I purchased one years ago from Jim Allison/CBE in NSW, Oz for a different rifle, but it is ~as accurate in the Mod. 39 as the -299 is. Btw, this was well before there were as many domestic custom mold makers as we presently have: Accurate Molds, Swede Nelson, et al.

And there are several fellows on the board who can make you a custom sizer as well.

Noe's 316299, beats the undersize modern day Lymans by a long shot.
