I recently got an old single-cavity Ideal 311299 mold
Already have some old mold handles, that came with a 2-cavity Lyman 429251.
Problem is, I find I can't really use these handles on the single-cavity Ideal mold, there is incomplete closure, even though they work fine on an old single-cavity Lyman 358429 I have.
Anyone know where I can get the right handles for the single-cav Ideal mold, or some other way to get the old Ideal 311299 casting again?

About your best options are gun shows and the various auction sites.
I have more blocks than handles, so I grab up handles wherever I can find them, if the price is right. Always nice to just pick up the mould and start using it.
There is allegedly a small letter "L" on the handles for the large or dual cavity blocks but I seldom, if ever, see it, unless I've stamped it on there myself. Most of what you find will be single cavity standard size handles that should fit your 30 caliber mould.

I have gotten by modifying the "large handles" on the smaller SC molds by removing material at the tips .On the side where they meet the slots in the mold.
That`s where the interference is & they will still work for the larger molds.

There is a thread in the sticky's that show pictures of the correct handles for every mold ever made ...well almost :) So you know what to look for.
BUT, the other alternative is to Mod a set of Lee. I'd mod'ed several Lee's for...Lyman, RCBS, Saeco, Herters, MBT, and TC. They are just so universal and cheap ;)
There's a Lee mould handle sticky, too. Lot's of information available . . .

The "LS" style are made for the Old Style Lyman S/C moulds.

Thanks guys, been PM'd a deal on a set of handles for this block which I will take up.
Meantime tho', I appreciate all that info as I do have many other old antique blocks that are orphaned from their handles, and on the advice got an old big set of RCBS handles doing the job - looks weird but will do until the correct set of handles arrive.

Nothing like getting an old one working again is there?
