Had the opportunity to take this buck while home on leave in NC. Used my Browning Low Wall in 45 Colt. Load was a 290gr SWC from Dry Creek Bullets pushed along by 10gr Unique set off by a Remington LP primer. The bullet performed admirably taking off the top 1/4 of the heart, turning the lungs to jello, and smashing through the heaviest portion of the off shoulder. The bullet was found just under the skin on the off side. Amazingly the buck ran about 50 yards leaving a very nice blood trail. Very impressed as this is my first kill with a cast bullet.

Very nicely done! Aren't cast bullets wonderful? They kill like lightening, and usually don't damage a lot of meat.

Good job. BTW, that's a very nice, handy rifle you have there. It must be a joy to carry in the woods.

Take care, Tom

Nice deer , and good shootin! Those little rifles are so nice to hunt with, light and handy with plenty of steam. Tenderloin in the skillet yet?
