hello all i have cast some, mihec 9mm bullets. The hollow points are dropping at 130gn and the solids are dropping at 135.5gn. I have been searching for data the best i could come up with is for 124gn bollits. The two powders I have are Alliant Unique and Winchester 231. what data would you suggest for the 9mm and 357 mag thanks

Hodgdon's reloading website has loads listed for 130gr bullets (berry's bullets) for your ww231 powder.

When in doubt, use the data for the next heavier bullet. Check that OALs are similar, Then pick a load from the mid range, load a few and try them. Speer has data for a 135 gr. bullet for .357's, as well as 140 grainers that would give you a starting point. For the 9MM, Lyman lists 4.0 to 4.5 grains of Unique for a 140 grain boolit. http://www.hogdon.com has data for WW-231. That site should be a favorite for all reloaders.

It's been a while, but I think someone had a thread going on this topic in "CB Loads, Your Favorite Cartridge".

RRH,

I've done some experimenting with that very bullet and those same two powders! I was looking for a light target load that would function all pistols and shoot accurately. My favorite load ended up being 4.2 grains Unique for both solid and HP. W231 worked fine, also, but I thought I could see just a bit more accuracy with the Unique. With W231 and the solid bullet at 135 grains, 3.3 grains was minimum to function, and worked well. With 231 and the HP at 128 grains, 3.5 grains or more was needed.

Happy shooting!

+1^^^^^^ 4.2 gr of unique. I have also settled on this load for all my 9mm. Have shot thousands of these coated with Hi Tek coating and absolutely zero leading. Seems like it clocks in @ 1050fps. Mild recoil and very accurate
