Jeff Bartlett is listing this again, $49.00/6#. http://www.gibrass.com/gunpowder.html I bought some the last time he had it. I use it in all handgun loads and some rifle loads. Great stuff.

The next two powders in his list may very well interest people here.

What lot #?

Too bad he would not list that.

Little effort on his part to do it.

AND

Could be useful to a lot of us

Bartlett cautions that this powder does not work well with progressive powder measures (Dillon?). Are you single stage loading or have you gotten this powder to work on a progressive?

Dan stay away from this powder like the plague with a progressive. I load on a single stage press and use two powder measures, A Lee Perfect and a Lyman 55. This powder bridges terribly in the Lee but does okay in the Lyman, +/- .3-.4 grains. I leave the Lyman set at 10 grains and use that load most often. The rest I use the Lee plastic scoops.

I have lot #91A-009 and use Blue Dot data. As long as you stay away from top end loads the measures and scoops are okay as long as they don't bridge . Top end loads you would be very wise to weigh each charge.

I use the RCBS charge master with scale and use a single stage press to load 500 S&W rounds and the powder distributes perfectly in the pan every time and is really quick. I find the 10b101 powder is comfortable to shoot not like the bite of WC820. The Lee 440 gr. bullet being pushed by 33.0 gr of 10b101 has more power than I will ever need. I have a Mihec 600 gr. mold but never tried it yet.

Anyone try this in 9mm, .40, or .45? If so what charge do you use with it? I feel that it is very easy to compress the load, which this powder has been reported not to like. Of course if you under charge it, you have cycling/un-burnt powder issues.

I use it in a 9mm bolt action rifle. Load is heavily compressed, under a Lee 125gr. boolit. Pretty mild pressure, burns dirty, and is very accurate. I doubt it makes enough pressure to cycle a semi auto pistol though. Never tried it in a 40 or 45.

I have been trying to come up with an accurate load with 358156 or 358429 for my Rossi 92 using this powder but so far it has NOT been a performer.

Has not worked out of a 4" Dan Wesson but worked with 38429 in the 6" GP100.

Everybody seemed to have stopped posting loads with this powder.

I will post the 358429 load later (don't have info close by) since it apparently shot well out of the GP100.

It may be the boolit shape. Once I started using the Ranch Dog 175 in my Browning '92 I got very good accuracy with it, loaded over 8.0gr. 10B101. In fact, that same load (with different boolits) works in my 38 spl revolvers, 357 Contender, and 7.62X39 rifle.

I can get 358156 and 358429 to feed when crimped i the crimp groove.

Both Ranch Dog and Lar 180s require dep seating that even gave me flattened primers with 14.5 of Lil Gun.

IF the angle on the nose of either of these boolits was just sligtly different . . .

I can change the release timing with some judicious filing of the rails and that may well take caree of the issue.
I think 10-15/1000ths will do it
