I have a chance to buy one of these and will be having a close look at it this week.
Does anyone have any experience with these Legacy rifles. If everything works out I'll finally have a match for my Ruger Vaquero :)

Buy it. 45 Colt rifles are hard to come by up here. If you don`t like it PM for a quick sale.

Done Deal Bob :D
I picked it up today. It had a few small areas of surface rust which will easily come off with some steel wool & CLP.
Came with a crapload of bullets brass, 170 loaded rounds & Lee Carbide dies.
$675 Cdn. Did I do good or what.

Fine looking firearm. Winchester's little pistol grip has always been attractive to me. This will bring you hours of great fun and the 45 Colt is a fabulous hunting round. Congratulations. Have fun cleaning it up and more fun at the range.

Hey Yeah Huntsman , SWEET" man , You did GOOD Bro" , Real Hard to come by . Bet your gonna like that sucker a Lot" , I`ve got a similer set up as you do there , only my set up is in a 44 Magnum S/S Vaquero 5 1/2 inch , and a 1894 Marlin S/S 44 Mag . I got a real nice custom built Black Cowboy leather rig for the Vaquero , 24 bullet loop's on the belt . I had a fellow make that for me several year's ago . Those are my favorite 2 gun's out of the whole bunch I have around here . You did Good Man , Very Nice , Nice" Long Barrel on that Rifle too . Have fun with your new rifle And that Vaquero pistol , I sure like my Vaquero . Have fun man....

Yep, that gun is the best of the Winchester lever guns in 45 because of the twist. They did that one right. 24 twist handles any boolit you will ever want to shoot in it from my personal experience. ... felix

.............Not a M94

But my Miroku/Win M92 in 45 Colt has the 16" pistol twist.

Buckshot that is one sweet rifle. I am going to have to seek out a retailer in the Seattle area who handles those rifles. It is one like yours or an Urberti 1873. They are just works of art.

Ric, yeah, yours was done in Japan! The Legacy labelled guns were the last levers made by USA Repeating Arms before belling up. The 45 and 44 guns were both 24 twist! John (Beagle) has the 44 version, bought about the same time period as mine. I think, don't know for sure, Dick Casull started this twist "revolt" with his revolter twists: 20 for 41, 22 for 44, and 24 for 45. It could have been 22, 24, 26 respectively. Just don't remember. ... felix
