Folks get fired up about the ''my 9/40/mag is leading'' posts because ''nobody reads the stickies''. Followed by ''I mentioned this in op''.

So far ,and I've read through at least 4 relative post this week , nobody has said ,380ACP,9mm , 38,357mag,357 max,35 Rem,358 Win,9x57,35 Whelen and how many more 1900 to date share the .355-.358 groove dia. A 0000 buck will make a great plinker load ,even in a 350 Rem Mag.(why I don't know). No I wouldn't 358-250 in a 380 case,it might be fun just to see if the gun would blow up. Is there a sticky " Buckshot to Volkswagons in your shootin'irons, the wonder of Cast Boolits" I've missed or forgotten about ?

Gaaaaaaaa!!!!!!!

Ok I'm done now......

Whaaaa?

I agree that people should read the stickies or do a search.

However, there are now so many stickies that it is becoming difficult. And the search function on vBulletin (the forum software) isn't the most robust.

On way I have found to do a more through search is to do a modified Google search using the following link.

If we could collapse the stickies that would be a cool feature.

The number of stickies currently in place is ridiculous and still every time someone types anything remotely intelligent, there will be a knee jerk "this should be a sticky" post.

I don't have to ask many questions BECAUSE I spend most of my time here reading the stickies. I read the ones that have nothing to do with what I'm trying to find out, and usually find out I would have had other questions, but now have the answers (if only I can remember them when I need them).
Seems a lot of the newer folks don't have time to waste on a general education, they merely want quick answers to what's on their mind at the time. I prefer to learn more than I think I need to know at the time, and usually find out that even that wasn't enough to know.

This rant produced a good thread. That Google search idea is pretty slick. Harter66, anything else you want to get off your chest?

I'm good for the moment, unless there's a better answer than the ol' demand for the product answer about 270/6.8 moulds not being available save by special order.

As a simple point this really wasn't so much about new guys reading the stickies as it was about a certain level of knowledge that just doesn't seem to exsist. In modern terms the name of the 32 anything pistol makes no sense w/ its 310 bullet. The lights should at least fliker for the 9mm guy that sticks his caliper in the muzzle and reads .357 ,regardless of whether or not they know a 38 is 380 on the case OD. There's a thread asking about the correct nomaclature for a x57 case and a 357 groove. Its still a 9x57. There were 3 threads running at once about using the 356-124 TCTL in a 38 or a 358-125 RNFP in a 9mm and 1 or another 356-105's in a 380ACP. I'm far from a knowledgable source for much of anything and I dropped my bubblegum more than once riding a bicycle, but if you're loading for a given cartridge don't you take a minute to read the cover page in the manual ? Loading is a hobbie w/huge returns why not learn all you can ?

The stickies never addressed a leading issue I had in my 06' which was mid-bore leading w/4'' of clean bore at both ends and a nice lube star. I'd done everything to the 314 bullet, manual deepening of lube grooves,quad-driple slugs confirmed 312 to 310 to 308 x300 in the 1st inch in front of the case, I knerled the bore ride to get more lube on the boolit, I cast softer boolits, hit em' harder, hit em' slower. Nothing worked . So I asked why is it leading w/all my info alloy lube what I'd tried. 1st post ''go read the stickies'' followed by the ''fit '' and ''lube'' posts. I think it was Char-gar that stepped in saying something like ''guys he's got a lube star and 312 ought to be big enough'' . The rifle shoots fine now w/the fire laping having cut that 300/308 out to 3005x309 and the muzzle opened up to 300x307 instead of 298x304.
