Please chime in if you've first hand experience with the semi-auto, the 3500. Poor man's Binelli? The action is similar. I handled one today and would like Some input. Thanks.

Hogtamer, a few weeks ago I looked at the Stoeger 3000, which I believe is similar in operation, but for 3" or shorter shells. Wish I had available funds, as its on my short list. Haven't fired one, but the reviews are good. A feller on the Brian Enos forums bought one and tricked it out with an extended mag tube to use for 3-gun competition. They sure are proud of the Benellis. MSRP on the Stoeger is less than half.

I own one... it's exactly what you said it is--- poor man's B. Never had any problems shooting clays, ducks, or geese. If you get one... you won't regret it.

Got a good friend that has one. He had in Feb when we went small game hunting in Anchorage AK with temps down in the teens and it chugged along with Hi Brass #5 2 3/4". Over Thanksgiving he used it hog hunting in FL with slugs. Same action as Benelli's with less bells and whistles.

I've had 2 of their O/Us. No problems. I use the field grade .410 (m/i) for both hunting and skeet. BTW, I average 19/25 with it.

If I remember correctly any mechanical issues is you send it to benneli. Still rather have the benneli. I have had much fewer benneli's than stoegers to get sent out for repair.
