I took the 86 out for a stroll today, I happened on a gravel pit that had some good targets embedded in the bank just over 100 yards away.
I bounced four shots off a closer rock to get my distance, then I got a bead on the furthest one away. I lined up full bead and fired, I heard a good smack on the rock.
The 86 is a solid and very accurate shooter, five hits right to point of aim. The next thing to do is bring along the chronograph to see how the same load does out of the 86 compared to the Marlin.
I have had probably a dozen Marlin GG's and a few 1895's, the 86 feels tighter and shoots better for me, this isn't a Marlin bash, just my observations from my first 86.
With the same 405 load, it was always a bit more work to get the Marlin to get the same accuracy right out of the box.
