I got a new Blackhawk conv. this week (won a pump shotgun on a ticket so I put another 50 bucks to the price and exchanged for the revolver). Only got to shoot it 2 times so far, but I'm happy with it. I've been using my regular load of a rn lee 230tl cast from range scrap over W231 powder. I size these at .452 for my 1911. First time out I shot about 30 rounds, next time was 25 rounds, both times no leading. Wet patch followed by dry patch and it's clean! I had one cyl slug mic. at .4515, the other 5 were all .4520 and the barrel is .4510 after a slight constriction at the frame. Hopefully the 45colt cylinder works out as nicely, I haven't played with it at all yet. Now I need to get a new mold, and a leather holster, and some colt brass and dies, and Pachmayr grips.... :)

Which BH do you have? There are the standard BH's as well as the Bisley's and Super BH's and then Ruger came out with the more recent Flat Top BH's and New Vaquero's that are both built off of a smaller frame?

It's the regular Blackhawk, not the new smaller framed job.

Nice..........you'll have fun for sure. I've loaded 230 grain to 345 grain bullets in my Bisley. I have the smaller frame Flat Top 45 convertible that I run mainly 230 to 260 grain boolits down the bore from both cylinders but prefer the 45 Colt one.
