I know it has been asked before but could not find it.
I have 4 of the older (1960's) shotguns
2 of them are winchester model 12's.
I know they were manufactured for lead shot but since Governor Moonbeam and several other states as well as entire US requires steel shot for water fowl can steel shot be used in these guns (as is) without damaging them?
Doubt I will ever hunt again but thought maybe some trap and skeet.

I seem to remember that the Mod 12's can be threaded for chokes....you might check it out....as far as I know all states have to use steel or bistmuth shot (can be used in Mod. 12's)....good luck with Governor Moonbeam......

You can, but without a cylinder bore or inprooved cylinder bore choke I doubt it will work very well.
